I have 2 XP Pro machines on a peer to peer with a win98SE machineMy two XP machines see each other well and I am able to share files between
them. I had an older Win98SE machine that I was using prior to this, lots of family photos videos etc on it. I created the same workgroup on the 98 machine as on the XP's I ran netsetup.exe on the 98 machine and I shared the appropriate folder. I can see the name for the 98 computer in both XP "My Network Places" but when I double click on it I get a "Network path not found or permissions not granted" error. The 98 machine shows up in "Network Neighborhood" in the proper "workgoup" and when I click it all the shared folders appear and I am able to browse them, but neither of the two XP machines are visible. I do not know what to do. On Sun, 3 Sep 2006 21:08:02 -0700, lost in space <lost in

Look at "browstat status" and "browstat listwfw @wgname", from each Windows XP computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!): <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
