netopia 3347W firmware 8X latest from netopia set up using tec doc from
netopias web site which was pretty straight foward windows xp home sp2

I am trying to connect to the netopia router using the windows xp vpn client
usime ms-chap. the windows client authenacates the user and password  then
says registering your computer on the network then disconnects with the
fowolling error

Error 629: the connection was closed by the remote computer.

what may I have missed in the setup?

I am trying from a different pc and I connect for a second then it
disconnects below are 3 events in the system event viewer
