You can't delete a local area connection directly from the Network Connections folder. When you reboot, the system will create a new local area connection for each network adapter. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. There should be one connection for each network adapter installed in the computer. To permanently remove a local area connection, uninstall the network adapter in Device Manager and then physically remove the adapter from the computer or disable it in the BIOS setup. Does a local area connection's name include a number, like "Local Area Connection 6"? That doesn't mean that there are multiple connections. You can right-click the connection and rename it to "Local Area Connection". -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
