Wireless Router Range/ HubMy cable modem is located in a back bedroom and my Linksys wireless Router
is having a hard time reaching some areas of the house. It also has four wired ports that connect to other towers in the house and garage. If I put it in my wife's office "in the middle" of the house it has great coverage. However, to do this I have to link my desktop to the modem using a Ethernet Hub instead of the router. Then put the Linksys on her desk. My question is: Will this put the PCs at risk since they are connected to the cable modem thru the Hub and not the router? Thanks, J. First of all, thos machines connected to the hub will have problems since
only one will be getting an IP Address from the modem and the best thing to do is get the repeater as the above postersuggested. -- Show quoteHide quoteMCP (2K) Net+, A+ Server-Networking MVP "John Weiss" wrote: > "J" <j_think***@msn.com> wrote... > > My cable modem is located in a back bedroom and my Linksys wireless Router > > is having a hard time reaching some areas of the house. It also has four > > wired ports that connect to other towers in the house and garage.
