Recently I downloaded Google web accelerator.  Since then, my dial-up modem
keeps disconecting.  I tried changing the max. port speed and increased the
"Cancel the call if not connected" value.

PS - I have also run scans with Spy-Bot, Lavasoft Ad-Aware,  Ewido
ant-maleware, C.A. EZ Anti-virus and M.S. Windows Defender.  Spybot and Ewido
did find some tracking cookies.  Any other ideas what could cause these
disconnects?

Uninstall Google Web Accelerator or use System Restore to remove it (if
necessary) - does your problem go away?

Yes I tried removing Web Accelerator and had no effect.   However, yesturday
I loged on with a different connection & isp (Netzero) and had no trouble.
I did try to delete my defult connection, but then dicided not to and ran
system restore.     Then today I logged on with my defult connection (the isp
provided by my school) and now the problem seems to be gone.
