cant join a workgroup with xp home laptopHelp, i am having trouble changing my workgroup/domain membership with
my windows xp laptop. when i go to change it, it allows me to change my computers name, but as for the workgroup its greyed out and doesnt allow me to click it it. It tells me that i need to install networking in order to do that. i went to add remove programs and add remove windows components, and added all the networking options they had. Still no dice, any help would be great What Group Policies are in effect? You can not join a Domain with a XP Home
machine. Also, you can not do both of the things youwant to do in one step. It requires two reboots. -- Show quoteHide quoteMCP (2K) Net+, A+ Server-Networking MVP "Death From Above" wrote: > Help, i am having trouble changing my workgroup/domain membership with > my windows xp laptop. when i go to change it, it allows me to change my > computers name, but as for the workgroup its greyed out and doesnt > allow me to click it it.
