Network resources from run statementSorry, accidentally posted this in the Media Center section.
I have some quite strange behavior happening on my XP machine. As a Sys admin i connect to servers from the run statement connecting to \\servername, and \\servername\adminshare. Sometimes when i run it, the server resources appear and then i try to go into a folder and nothing below appears, other times i dont get anything at all on the first try, it is really hit and miss, it is not the server as it works from any other PC. Any ideas There is a known issue with Norton Antivirus that causes this kind of
trouble. Apart from that, I'd suggest removing and reinstalling all of the network components. Also make sure that any power-saving options for the network adaptor are turned off, and set the connenction-speed to a fixed value instead of auto-detect. It could also be a cabling error, for example crossed pairs. Basically you just need to work through all of the possibilities. Migtht be worth checking the network point with another computer first.
