Network Problem

Hello all
I have a greek version of winxp professional so I will try to translate the
messages.
When the pc starts I get a message that the network may be without or with
limited credibilty.I have a lan between my motherboard and a siemens dsl
modem to connect to my provider.I also get the message that maybe I won't be
able to connect to the Internet.I connect fine.There is an option to fix the
problem and when I choose that I get a message that windows are trying to
renew the IP address and finally that they failed.
Any help?

Does your DSL connection use PPPoE? If so, the solution is to assign
a static private IP address, such as 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0 or
10.0.0.1/255.0.0.0, to the LAN connection.
