How do log on to a domain??

At home I have a router, some Pc's ( all running XP) and a few network hubs/
switches. I now wish to be able to log on to diffrent PC's using a domain but
when i go to System Properties -> Computer name the Network Name button is
disabled, and when I go to re-name computer the Domain radio button is also
disabled. PLEASE help me as I am deparate!!

I suppose you know that XP HE cannot join a domain.

As Bob has noted, you cannot join Windows XP Home Edition to a domain.  And
in any case, you cannot join any domain with Windows XP Professional Edition
unless your computer is connected to the network with the domain you wish to
join.
