Xp home ICS set upI have been trying to set up ICS on my PC for some time without success and
receive the message - a Lan connection is already set with the address for automatic ip addressing when I enable ICS on the "internet" connection. I have 2 lan cards in the PC, and 2 PCs connected (working ok) the IP addresses are - HOST - "LAN" connection is set to 192.168.0.20, "internet" connection (via an ADSL modem) is set to 192.168.0.1, this is the one I am trying to enable ICS on. The ADSL modem is on 192.168.0.10, the CLIENT PC is set to 192.168.0.21. Any help much appreciated. Rob On Tue, 19 Sep 2006 15:42:02 -0700, Nibor <Ni***@discussions.microsoft.com>

ICS requires that 192.168.0.1 is the address used by the ICS server for connecting to the clients. This is not an option easily changed. But if you have an Ethernet WAN, on 192.168.0/24, why do you want to use ICS? -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
