internet connection drops when idleI just got a new XP machine and I leave it on all the time. I also have a
cable modem which is always on. When I try to access the internet in the morning, or when I come home from work at the end of the day I have to restart the computer an then have internet access. A friend had this problem some time ago and there was an option "somewhere" that was either "On Demand" or something similar to that. It was checked and when I unchecked the box the problem disappeared. I have forgotten how to get to that option and was wondering if someone could direct me to where I can find it? -- Please take out the GARBAGE before replying to my address. That is why I want to know where to find the option to uncheck "On Demand" which when checked keeps the connection open as long as it it demanded, but then goes offline when there is not a constant demand.

That keep the connection active, but doesn't solve the problem. I have the same problem, but I have Outlook check mail every 1 minute and it
still drops connectivity. Seems like a number of people have this problem. Anyone who has solved it please let me know. Thanks.
