Network HelpHello all, I have a question about networking. I set-up a home network, and
I can't access some of the computers. I have 4 computers hooked up to this network. 1 computer I can not see one computer. I keep getting a permissions error, contact your administrator for access. I am the administrator. What permissions do I need to set?? Please help me. I had this network working before I upgraded to XP Professional Sp2. On Thu, 21 Sep 2006 17:04:29 -0400, "Jamie Zimmerman"

If this problem started when you put in SP2, then you have a problem with Windows Firewall. Do you have another personal firewall, or an antivirus product? <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-personal-firewall-can-either-help.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/your-personal-firewall-can-either-help.html If you can't find a personal firewall problem, let's look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!): <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#AskingForHelp -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
