Can`t connect to network, internetMy daughters laptop used to connect to my network with no problem, but for
some reason it won`t connect with her built in wireless card or when i run a cable directly to her laptop....can someone help me? In news:B895F940-42F2-4DC2-9D19-6C7609DCBEBD@microsoft.com, serna388 <serna***@discussions.microsoft.com> typed:> My daughters laptop used to connect to my network with no problem, Unfortunately, you haven't really supplied much information for anyone to go > but for some reason it won`t connect with her built in wireless card > or when i run a cable directly to her laptop....can someone help me? on. We'd need more detail - exact symptoms, what your network configuration is, what you've tried. For example, do you have a DHCP server on your network? Is she getting an IP address? Can she ping anything? Etc.

What does this mean, and how do I fix it? configuration. What are you running/using? I asked whether you had a DHCP server on your network - do you? If you have a little router/firewall appliance, you have the option for it. If you're using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing), it has a built-in DHCP server of sorts, as well. Help us to help you: http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm I see from your other post that you are having more than just this problem - I replied to it also, but am wondering if this machine has had a malware infestation of some sort. I'd run antivirus scans on it and also perhaps the Windows Defender beta, once you can get it on the network.... and post in microsoft.public.security.homeusers if you find any nasties you can't clean up.
