URGENT Folders on NTWK Drives ReadOnly -Can't ChangePLEASE Help! I have 2 computers running XP sp2 and I installed a RAID on one
computer and copied all my data from 2 other machines to the RAID drive. All the FOLDERS are marked READ ONLY and I am unable to change this on the XP machine with the RAID drive. I am unable to modify any of the files on the RAID drive from other 2 computers on the network. I took it to a tech at a computer store and he spend 4 hours on it without success. Please help....Ask me the questions you need to determine what to do to fix this. Thanks in advance, You may need to take over the ownership. These search results may help.

the data on the Raid drive cannot be modified. The raid drive is on a pc without MS Office so I cannot open the files on that PC. I have 3 other PC's on the network all are XP. Before I had the Raid installed I had a mirro of 2 drives with my data on it. I had the Raid installed and all the data moved to it and then I copied more data from 2 PC's to the Raid. I have shared it just like the old mirror and none of the PC's on the network can open the files for editing. XLS files come up the the Read Only or Notify or Cancel window. .DOC files cannot be changed and saved. JPG graphice files cannot be changed and saved while on the Raid. The tech and I only could do a save as to the local c: and then modify. We could not overwrite the files with a new version on the Raid. We are very puzzled. Have you any ideas? Your problem is likely to be misconfigured iinternet file sharing or inappropriate file permissions. By the way, what did the tech say he did during those 4 hours?
