stupid question: see'ing who is looking at a shared folderI have a stupid question:
I have a folder which is shared R/O for everyone (guest). Is there a way I can tell who is looking at that folder (or has that folder mapped)? -- + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + Chris Barnes AOL IM: CNBarnes chris-bar***@tamu.edu Yahoo IM: chrisnbarnes Computer Systems Manager MSN IM: ch***@txbarnes.com Department of Physics ph: 979-845-7801 Texas A&M University fax: 979-845-2590 On Mon, 25 Sep 2006 11:12:34 -0500, "Chris Barnes" <chris-bar***@tamu.edu> Chris, wrote: >I have a stupid question: > >I have a folder which is shared R/O for everyone (guest). > >Is there a way I can tell who is looking at that folder (or has that >folder mapped)? Look at (Control Panel - Administrative Tools - ) Computer Management - System Tools - Shared Folders - Sessions. This will show you who has an active session on that computer (and the IP address that they connected from). Shares will show you which shares have active sessions. And Open Files show you, by folder, who's looking. -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
