apache server for xp homeI've installed apache http server 2.2.2 so that I can write dynamic web pages
using dreamweaver 8. I believe the best 'format' to use is php files, for which i have downloaded the php application server. However I'm clueless about how to get these programs to run. There is an icon on my taskbar telling me that 'none out of 1 apache services is running', but if I try and start it I get an error message stating 'the requested application has failed'. If I right-click on the taskbar icon and open my local services window I see that apache is configured for automatic startup on the local system, but has not started and if I try start it I get an error message saying look at the system event log - which tells me nothing. How do I get this thing to work? And do I really need the php application server? -- tevia Consider something like WAMP:
