Extracting graphics/slides from videosFolks:
I have some DVDs that contain the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. The VIDEO_TS folder contains *.VOB video file formats. A typical video presentations consist of: Audio, Video, Text, & Graphics components. * I am looking for SOFTWARE that would allow me to extract or separate or view or copy the graphics (slides) components of these videos. Thanks in advance, Jo. JoJo,
Google search for... "Windows Media Player Classic" Media Player Classic will play most all media files, Even QuickTime and RealMedia if the proper codec's are installed on your machine. The F5 key during play (or pause) will save a screen capture of the video as a bmp or jpeg file to a location of your choice. MPC is supposed to play DVD video files as well, I have not tried that though. If having the correct codec becomes an issue, maybe try Codec's.com to download (free) codec's for most any media file out there. Hope this helps... information... http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/vob.cfm VOB stands for DVD Video Object. It is basically one of the core files found on DVD-Video discs and contains the actual movie data. Basically VOB file is just a basic MPEG-2 system stream -- meaning that it is a file that contains multiplexed MPEG-2 video stream, audio streams (normally AC3 and DTS formats) and subtitle streams. You might try either of two options... 1. IRFANVIEW help indicates that you can run a video and then run IRFANVIEW to capture the running stream OR 2. Copy and then rename the file with a MPEG extension. You might contact irfanv***@gmx.net for advice. <JoJo> wrote in message Show quoteHide quote news:unNqQJu4GHA.2536@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... | Jim: | | | I have IRFANVIEW installed on my machine but it does NOT recognize *.VOB | file format. | | * Do I need some type of special plugin ? | | | Thanks | | | | | "Jim Macklin" <p51mustang[threeX***@xxxhotmail.calm> wrote in message | news:uI3a0pm4GHA.1460@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... | >I use IRFANVIEW to extract frames from video clips. | > | > | > | > | > <JoJo> wrote in message | > news:O3ltFak4GHA.3452@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... | > | Folks: | > | | > | | > | I have some DVDs that contain the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS | > folders. linked from the IRFANVIEW FAQ page. They do show a conversion from VOB to MPG [and others formats].
