Using a basic Net-Gear router (at work don't have exact model number
atm) but anyway my problem really only has to do with Web-Browsing.  I
have 3 computers and an XBox 360 connected to the router. (360 is off
usually)  The computers frequently run AIM, ICQ, IRC, World of
Warcraft, Counter-Strike, etc... and none of them ever have any
problems with the internet and run at great speeds.  However, when
trying to just view simple webpages (any), using IE or Mozilla, the
internet frequently acts like it's cutting out.

Sometimes I can go to a page and it will load up in a couple seconds
just like it should.  But many times I will not load and give me the
wonderful "Page cannot be loaded" message or whatever it is.  But if I
sit there and hit refresh a few times it will eventually pop up.
Basically it will only load up webpages for a few seconds at a time,
then nothing for a several seconds, then it will come back.  It's
extremely annoying.

And remember while having these problems all other programs accessing
the internet are working just fine.  Is this some kind of firewall
problem with IE and Mozilla?

I've had the same problem for a couple of months now. My problem is on my
laptop (wireless) with a Broadcom 802.11b/g onboard wireless chip with
125HSM/SpeedBooster support. I use a Linksys WRT54GS router with SpeedBooster
connected to a 600KB/s down - 50KB/s up cable modem. Never had any problems
with my desktop which uses a regular ethernet connection. Likewise, if I
connect my laptop with an ethernet cable I don't have this problem.

It's really frustrating. I keep my drivers up to date - Broadcom, Windows,
any other drivers that I could find that I thought would help - no good. I've
disabled File and Printer Sharing under my wireless internet connection - no
good. I've tried enabling and disabling QoS Packet Scheduler - no good.

I only get these problems in a web browser also, all of my other programs
that access the internet are not affected - so I ruled out my firewall
(Sygate Personal Firewall - tried ZoneAlarm, same thing - even tried Windows
Firewall, same thing, tried disabling my firewall, same thing). I've even
tried re-installing the wireless internet connection in Network Connections.

Changing the settings for my Broadcom chip doesn't work either - like
Fragmentation Threshold, RTS Threshold, IBSS 54g Mode, tried turning off
Bluetooth Collaboration, going through every single channel on my router.

The only thing that I have noticed is that when I cange the channel number
under the Broadcom properties is that it always reverts back to channel 11.
This is strange because I have my router set to a different channel. I tried
a couple of times to change the channel here to match that of my router but
it keep reverting. Although, after it reverts I still am able to connect to
my router.

I just wonder if it's the Broadcom chip - but it's an onboard, so I would
have to get a wireless PCMCIA card and see if that does the trick.

I've been looking at lots of forums to try to find a solution to this
problem, but I still haven't found an answer anywhere.

I'll keep digging - if I find anything then I'll post back here.
