I have a problem, when i tried to access a share in the LAN , using its
name like
\\computername\sharename., i get the error Network path not found,
where as if I access it using the ipaddress like \\ipaddress\sharename,
i am able to access it. can anyone help me with this problem.

Irshad,

This will probably be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other
security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be
the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

Look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", if you like, from each computer,
and diagnose the problem.  Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
