ICS and Different Internal IP addressHello All,
I'm curious if it's possible to select a different IP range for internal nodes when using XP's Internet Connection Sharing (i.e. 10.100.100.255 instead of 192.168.0.255). If not, is there a snapin, or other way of accomplishing this feat? - Pezlin In article <E5E750D5-7537-4EC2-8AFF-8CAEFC7F0***@microsoft.com>,

ICS only supports the 192.168.0.x range, with 192.168.0.1 assigned to the host computer's home network connection. You can manually change the IP address of that connection after enabling ICS. However: 1. There's no guarantee that ICS (or networking in general) will work correctly if you do. 2. It will disable the ICS host's DHCP server. You'll have to configure the client computers' TCP/IP properties manually. 3. If you try it, make a restore point first so that you can recover in case of problems. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
