I don't seem to be able to install the additional component peer to peer.
Everything else installs but this gives an "extended error" message.  Anyone
help?

I am experiencing the same problem installing the component. Did you find out
how to fix it or get help with it?

Timbo and Mark - just curious - but to what in the world are you two
referring?

[I was doing a search on peer-to-peer and found this old posting - btw,
sorry for coming across this message so late]

It looks like you may be hitting an "extended error" on XP SP2 when enabling
the Peer-to-Peer optional component.  Peer-to-Peer depends on IPv6 and there
has been previous posts related to what you may be experiencing.  Please see
attached thread.

However, the link that's in the attached thread is no longer available.  I
believe what you can try is the following:
esentutl /g %windir%\security\Database\secedit.sdb    (checks integrity)
esentutl /p %windir%\security\Database\secedit.sdb    (attempts repair)

After that, try the optional Peer-to-Peer install again and / or the
optional IPv6 install as well.

You can install IPv6 from the cmd line by doing:
C:\>ipv6 install

That's worked in the past for others hitting the "extended error"

Hope that helps,
Simon.
