Same old - Workgroup PCs not showing :(

I am intermediate Networker and did have a domain setup at home with 4 PCs
and laptop. However, due to recent flood had to rebuild all and thus not
building domain controller machine so save some cash.

Currently have new Linksys WAG300N dsl/wireless router, Laptop (XPHomeSP2),
Son PC (XPHomeSP2) and MCE 2005 (Rollup2 aka SP2).

Laptop on internal Wireless, MCE on Linksys WUSB54AG, Son PC on Linksys
WUSB54G. Wireless all working with WPA-PSK and all machines talk to internet
fine through router.

Have Sharing on and shares on all machines. Tried turning off both Windows
and Zonealarm turned off just to make sure not something wierd. Zonealarm
has same trusted zones always had of 192.168.1.1->192.168.1.7.

Hi Wayne,

I could be going againgst the grain here, but I'll tell you what I would do
to get this working.

First, turn off your DHCP server and assign static IP addresses. For the
number of machines you have, it shouldn't be too bad.

Second, edit the HOSTS file to include your machines and IP addresses.
Again, in a working environment this would be silly, but try it.
Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts

Third, make sure that you have given each machine the same workgroup name.

Got to be worth a try.
