Adding Network Componentscomponent (XP Home) type of "Client" from the list of: Client Service Protocol Within my LAN connection and properties popup window. When I click the Add button, a popup window appears stating an error occurred during configuration of the network on this computer. Nothing else is mentioned. Is this to do with the fact that I cannot add components? "Windows was unable to find any drivers for this device". If you have a disk that contains the updated driver, or you wish to search in another location, click OK" I put my XP disk in and entered D: as the place to look but it cannot find anything. How can I add these new components? I have also tried to setup home networking using the wizard but I get an error message stating On Fri, 6 Oct 2006 08:02:02 -0700, Becky <Be***@discussions.microsoft.com>

My email is AT DOT actual address pchuck mvps org. I am more concerned with the fact that my home networking setup wizard is not
working. It gets to the end of the wizard and then displays the message: Cannot Complete the Network Setup Wizard An error occurred during configuration of the networks on this computer, If I right-click the LAN connection and click repair I get this message: Repair 1394 Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: TCP/IP is not enabled for this connection. Cannot proceed. There is a TCP/IP entry on the list if I view the properties of the LAN connection. I checked the nsw.log and this is what is listed:

Does the host have Ethernet? Why are you trying to share Internet service by Firewire ("1394")? Try and describe, in more detail, how everything connects to each other. <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/background-information-useful-in.html> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/background-information-useful-in.html -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
