Ping OK ~ Re-install NETBIOS?This is a follow on question where a small network at home seems to be
working fine except the main computer which has stopped seeing or communicating with any other on the network. It does connect to the internet OK through the network switch and DSL connection. It had worked fine for ages. All normal checks done including checking all names and removing firewalls. I can ping IP adresses OK but cannot name ping. I cannot see my own name in the "My network" list. Ron in Kiwicountry Previous assistance would indicate the NETBIOS is not working. I have triple checked the set up is OK: [1] Configured NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the right network connection. [2]. Set it to "Enabled", not to "Default". [3] Clicked the OK button afterward. Still not working. Internet still working fine
