My internet connection is via an ADSL modem(only USB connection). It
connects to my home pc via usb.

I want to connect a linksys router to my ethernet port on my home pc
and have it access the internet via the ADSL modem connected to the usb
on the same machine. Please help

Hi

In order to use the Linksys you need to create a Routing mechanism, to Route
to the Linksys.

Typically, you would use Windows ICS (a form of software Router).

The Linksys itself has to be configured to accommodate the use of ICS like
any other computer (Device) that uses ICS.

ICS configuration here, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126

The Linksys core IP has to be of the same subnet that ICS works with. The
rest of its configuration would depend on what you would like to do with the
device?
