Peer-Peer, XP, 2000, problemsI'm trying to bring a new XP Pro computer in to a peer-peer network of
Windows 2000 machines. I've got the same, correct workgroup name, but cannot see 2000 machines on my XP, and cannot see the XP machine on my 2000 machines. Tried creating and running the Network wizard disk to run on the 2000 machines, but got the message it would only run on 98, ME, Millinium machines. Struggling to figure out what I'm overlooking. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. mmatasov***@gibraltardesign.com In article <F3EF02C7-3921-42F2-A9BC-59F2E3F56***@microsoft.com>, Mark

XP's Windows Firewall is configured to allow file and printer sharing. 2. If the network uses TCP/IP, make sure that the XP machine has an IP address in the same subnet as the Windows 2000 machines. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
