Unable to connecto to workgroup PCFolks,
I have a WindowsXP Tablet edition laptop with a wireless connection to a small LAN. It is in workgroup "WORKGROUP" and can see and connect to other PC's on the workgroup, however no other computer can connect to any of the shares I have created on the laptop. When you try to connect, it pops up the login as Machine\Guest dialog box. I am unable to connect with any userid/password combination. Below are the things I've tried to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas ? disabled windows firewall created a new user account on the laptop and tried connecting as that user tried disabling the WLAN card and connecting via the ethernet port reran network setup wizard turned off and on file and printer sharing Assuming both computers' administrators have the same password, can you connect to the laptop?

Use this command: net view \\laptopip. You should receive system error. Post back with the error code.
