Very Slow Internet ConnectionHi All,
I just upgraded a PIII to Windows XP Home with a clean install. However, when I try go online at work the speed is slower than dial-up. I know it's not the network because the computer that I am replacing, a PII with Windows ME, is much faster online. I don't believe that I have any ad/spyware, viruses, etc. The PIII worked fine at home on my DSL line, so I am thoroughly confused. Are there any settings that I should check? Thanks. Hi
Try to optimize the TCP/IP Stack, http://www.ezlan.net/Internet_Speed.html Jack (MVP-Networking). <melling***@gmail.com> wrote in message Show quoteHide quote news:1161379256.502763.154930@m73g2000cwd.googlegroups.com... > Hi All, > > I just upgraded a PIII to Windows XP Home with a clean install. > However, when I try go online at work the speed is slower than dial-up. > I know it's not the network because the computer that I am replacing, a > PII with Windows ME, is much faster online.
