Google searches real fast but ANY search result is slow???

have two pcs on a small network . Both XP
I connect to the net thru the main pc - cable broadband (which has no
issues). When I search the net via Google on the second PC it is fine
to download the search results from. Google(i.e. as fast as the main
connected pc ) but it is EXTREMELY slow to donwload the s content.
I've tried using another service i.e. Yahoo as homepage but that is
slow - Any ideas??

I had an identical problem with Google and Explorer 7 beta after re-setting
my home page from Google to Windows Live. I even had Explorer crashing on
me. It went away after a re-install. I've now got Explorer 7.0 which works
fine.
