Start by looking for a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other
security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be
the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

And look at "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all", from each computer, and
diagnose the problem.  Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):

If they are Windows XP Pro, are they running Simple or Advanced File Sharing?
If Advanced, with Guest or non-Guest authentication?  And Guest or non-Guest,
are the accounts in question properly activated for network access, with
identical, non-blank passwords?

Always ask questions.  The only dumb question is one not asked.
