I own a wireless router that works great. I bought a network printer
which works when plugged into the router. But now I want to move my
printer upstairs but don't want to run the cable. Someone at work
mentioned seeing a product that was a ethernet tranmitter that came
with an RJ45 connector to lug directly into the nic on my printer.  Has
anyone heard or seen such a product?

Can anyone recommend a wireless print server? Is it best to keep the
brand of networking equipment consistant from router to print server?

Thanks.

The devices you are thinking of are variously called ethernet to wireless
adapters, wireless ethernet bridges, etc. - eg:

Wireless print servers usually provide a similar feature - eg:

I have no experience with wireless print servers, but - yes, all things
being equal it is probably better to choose a product made by the same
manufacturer as the router.
