I have a Cisco router (Linksys SR41 wired), and my computer running XP Pro
and it is running well. I want to allow my son's laptop access to the printer
and other services. He currently only has access to the inet through the
router. I can't seem to figure out how to allow him acess to the printer, or
really network the laptop in. Please help! (and thanks in advance).

Hi Richard,

You probably want to look for a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall,
or other security component, on each computer. There are several other
possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this article
with an open mind.

Check for a consistent NetBT setting.

Or you can provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, so
we can diagnose the problem.  Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Which led ME to...
http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/07/restrictanonymous-and-your-
server.html
Sorry to interrupt your thread here, but I was having the exact same
problem. After hours of Googling I was going to post here but ran across
your thread and it led me to the FIX!
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
The value restrictanonymous was 1 and should have been 0.
Reboot was required but it did the trick.

Thanks for helping a stranger... :-)

Thanks for the feedback, Menno!  It's surprising how many folks need that one

Thanks ALL! I was having other config problems with Explorer, and could not
get to the links in the answers! I have tried and have gotten to the answer!
The network now works, again my sincere thanks.
