Hi All,
I have read all night about 2 NIC's in one machine (win xp), but have
no luck up till now.
Here is my setup :

NetWork A :
4 winxp computers connected to router A,  which is connected to a cable
modem for internet.
Local Ip : 192.168.2.*
Subnet : 255.255.255.0

Network B:
1 WinXp Computer Connected to router B which is connected to a DSL
modem.
Local Ip : 192.168.0.*
Subnet : 255.255.10.0
To this computer i added another NIC card, which i connected to router
A.
My wish is that this computer will be able to see the local lan of
network A, but still use the internet from Network B.

I read alot about it, not understanding half of the explanations. The
other half i tried with no success.
I tried giving manual Metric for my NIC's , giving the one connected to
router B a lower Metric.
This did work and let me use the internet from B, but when trying to
access local computers the Network Places just Freezes.
When i set the metric back to automaticly, i can see all other
computers on the lan, but my internet also goes through network A, and
not using my B router.

I am lost here, played around with removing default gateways and stuff
( i dont know much what i was doing), but all with no success.

To sum it up in a few words :
Is it possible to block internet access from one NIC card, while still
giving it access to the local lan, and having another NIC for internet
access??

Thanks in advance, i cannot seem to get this figured out myself.
Eli

This is routing issue. Posting the routing table here may help or this case study may help,

Routing One router goes to the corporation email server and another one goes to the Internet. Symptoms: you have one router connecting to the corporation for email ...

We have many issues.
1. I don't see 192.168.1.0 subnet.
2. Why do you use mask 255.355.10.0?

Hi Robert,
I dont know where subnet 192.168.1.0 is.. i know nothing about routes.
one nic uses 192.168.0.3 (part of the 192.168.0.* subnet, and the other
nic uses 192.168.2.101 part of 192.168.2.*).
Do i need 192.168.1.0???
Also I changed the mask of my 192.168.0.* to 255.255.10.0 , as i read
somewhere having two nic's require two diffrent subnets. I can change
the router back to use 255.255.255.0 , as my other router and subnet
has.
I do not know where to go from here on though, any help would be
great..
tnx
