I upgraded my router.  Now on my network connections tab there is an
"INTERNET CONNECTION" icon listed under internet gateway.   I never had
that before with my older router.  I am having some file sharing
problems with one of my wireless computers...does this connection have
anything to do with this.

The Internet Gateway is your router.   Clicking the Internet Gateway
icon lets you monitor and control some of the router's functions.  For
example, disabling the Internet Gateway will tell your router to
disconnect from the Internet.

For more information, click Start > Help and Support, and search for
the topic "Using Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control".
