Windows firewall won't startHi all,
XP Pro SP2 with Norton Internet Security 2006. I can't start the Windows Firewall at all. What are the dependant services for this? Any ideas welcome. Thanks, Steve In article <Osdjk2nBHHA.4***@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl>, "Maincat"

Running more than one firewall at the same time can cause problems with network and Internet access, and the Windows Security Center specifically says not to do it. The "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" service depends on these services: Network Connections Windows Management Instrumentation. Network Connections depends on Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Windows Management Instrumentation depends on Event Log and Remote Procedure Call (RPC). Are there any messages about the firewall service in Event Viewer? -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
