whats going on with microsoft directx. i had version 8 in my computer then i
upgraded to version 9 download.  after the download i looked at it in system
information. then clicked the tools tab. then went to directx diognostic
at the bottom it shows my directx as version 4.9.00.0904..  the internert
test page wont work it says i need version 8 at the least.
when i first installd this version 9 direectx from microsoft it did say it
was version 9.0  and not that 4.0 whatever.
but it changed the next day to the lower version. by itself. i am thinking
of going mack. for real. im told this thing dont  happen in that operating
system and if i had a penny for each time i sent mail to microsoft with a
problem i could have had the money for a mack by now. i posted this message
in windows groups to under internet and the web.  this is the cross roads
microsoft. one road goes to mack os. one goes to fixing a problem. if any.
and allso.. auto updates did not work. i had to install it again.  and where
did the administrator folder in my hard drive come from that was duplicating
my drive.. i deleted it. .
