I upgraded to IE 7 and couldn't get it to work, in fact all internet related
functions were extremely slow.
After considerable time I worked out it wasn't IE7, but the new upgrade of
McAfee Security Suite.
McAfee's support (in India) finally helped me when I could convince them it
was their product and not IE7 that was the cause.
Very quickly they lead me through switching off Phishing & Personal
Information blocking features.
The support person I spoke to told me that these are in conflict and send
the program into loops that stop by way of time-out.

McAfee Security suite conflicts with.. computers.
