If the remaining computer connects to the Internet through an Ethernet connection to a DSL modem, cable modem, or broadband router, you have to leave the network running. If you don't need the Ethernet connection for anything, open the Network Connections folder, right-click the local area network connection, and disable it. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I still need the ethernet connection going because of XB LIVE. I can not disable it or I will lose my internet too. What can I do to stop that pesky error message? What does that pesky error message say, and when does it appear? Is the computer still connected to the router? If not, what is it connected to? -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see. I'm sorry, but I don't answer questions addressed directly to me in E-mail or news groups. Microsoft Most Valuable Professional Program http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Sorry XB LIVE means XBOX LIVE. The error message appears about every couple
of hours and it says "there is an ip address conflict with another device on your network". Yes the computer is still connected to the router and so is my XBOX 360 and my regular XBOX, all through ethernet cables.
