I recently put a password on my user and clicked secure folders, i realized
this afterwards and then went into C:\Documents and Settings\USER -
properties and unclicked make this folder private.  but if i go onto the
other computer it says "you do not have permission to view this folder acssed
is denied"

In a workgroup, to share files/printers amongst the different computers,
it's best to create identical user accounts & passwords on all the
computers....so when you're logged into computerA as jsmith / password, and
try to connect to a share on computerB, computerB will grant you access
because it also has jsmith / password in its user accounts database.
