Deleted accoutns?I accidentally deleted a adminstrator account from my computer. It had two
accounts, one called Administrator and was an adminstrator account, and another one with my name which was also an administrator account. It bugged me having two accounts like that so I tried to delete the one just called Administrator. That didn't work since it said it was a built-in account and couldn't be deleted. So I deleted my account and renamed the Administrator account to my name so I would only have one account. I was stupid enough to do this...since now ALL my personal documents, pictures, folders and files are gone! Is there any possible way to get them back? dadimar wrote:

You apparently deleted your own personal account and all your files. They are gone. Create a new user account (not the built-in Administrator account, renamed or otherwise) for your personal use. Either 1) restore data from backups; or 2) stop using the computer immediately and use data recovery software on the machine to recover your data. Using data recovery software successfully requires that you have at least one other computer where you can install the software and create the bootable media, as well as some level of computer skill to retrieve the data. Only you know your own abilities. If this is not something you can do and you don't have backups and the data is important, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop with experience in doing data recovery. This will not be your local BigStoreUSA. http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html PCInspector File Recovery - http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/welcome.htm Executive Software “Undelete†- http://www.execsoft.com/undelete/undelete.asp R-Studio - http://www.r-tt.com/ Ontrack's EasyRecovery - http://www.ontrack.com/software/ Malke I've already started copying backup documents from cd's to the computer
again. But I didn't have everything backed up. Is it too late to try the data recovery thing? I've restarted the computer once or twice since the accident happened.... If you're quite serious about this, shut it off now - unplug it or turn the power off, don't shut it down from the shut down menu, shut it OFF and leave it off. -- Show quoteHide quoteRichard G.
