No wireless networks were found".I have a tablet PC Compaq tc1100. Windows XP Pro SP2. It works when I connect
to a wired lan (other NIC card) SBS windows 2003 domain in my office. But when I take out of the office and login into it as a PC, enabling the wireless card and disabling the Lan NIC card it can' detect any wireless network access points. I click on the wireless Icon and I get the message "No wireless networks were found". In network connections the Icon is crossed out and says," Wireless Network Connection Not connected, Firewalled". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware (intel pro wireless lan 2100 mini pci adapter) but it didn't help. Ipconfig /all says Media State = disconnected. I the computer = 127.0.0.1 Any suggestions? On Tue, 21 Nov 2006 11:08:02 -0800, Mike G <Mi***@discussions.microsoft.com>

You'll have to read the manual, but it's probably either a small (hard to find) physical switch or a combination of the Fn key and some F key. -- Lem MS MVP -- Networking To the moon and back with 64 Kbits of RAM and 512 Kbits of ROM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer Had the same problem with my HP laptop. Later, I found that in front of my
laptop, there was a button that enables the wireless nic. Just because it says in Network Connections that the wireless nic is enabled is not actually true, at least in my case. This was the problem there an external switch that brings up a menu to turn
the wireless adapter on...Thanks to everyone for all your comments. Show quoteHide quote "Victor" wrote: > Had the same problem with my HP laptop. I had this problem recently after a motherboard replacement on my TC1100. Solution was to install the Q Menu (you can download this from HP). It has an option to turn the radio on. (Mind you this also caused my tablet to always to show in portrait mode after booting up so I deinstalled the Q Menu as soon as I had got the radio working. Jacka -----------------
