Searching DynDns update client with no installer and possible pre-configurationI am searching a good DynDns dynamic IP update clients.
There are some good out there BUT: - They all need installation - they cannot be pre-configured I am searching for an update client which needs only unzipping and double clicking. The client should then read the *.ini file which I put in the zip file as well and where the DynDns.org account parameter are already entered. At last the Update client should run from now on at Window startup automatically. Does someone know such a simple-to-use Dyndns client ? Thx Ken Hi
Get this Updater, http://www.kanasolution.com/index.php?i=31 Install it one time, and Configure, the configuration would create an ini file. You can edit the ini file entries with the notepad to fit whatever other system you specifically want to. Zip all the files in the directory. You can use the zipped files to be unzipped on any other computer at a directory of your choice. However, you have to use common sense. The INI includes. Host name, User ID, Password etc., and those entries would need to be configured according to what actually each system variables are. You can delete the INI file altogether, and configure the Updater to the specific system after unzipping the files else where while running it the first time. Jack (MVP-Networking). It's a
single executable and no need for installation. Unfortunately it does not use .ini files but stores the data in the registry under a single key (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Peas Inc). The registry can easily be exported into a .reg file, which can be imported on another machine or after a reinstall of the OS. It's available here: http://www.palacio-cristal.com/products/DeeEnEs/ Ken Philips wrote: Show quoteHide quote > I am searching a good DynDns dynamic IP update clients. > > There are some good out there BUT: > > - They all need installation > - they cannot be pre-configured > > I am searching for an update client which needs only unzipping and > double clicking.
