Am i right in presuming that the reason half the website's wont open on IE7
is because we are all being used as Guinea Pigs for a BETA program?

And if so can will uninstalling IE7 and reinstalling IE6 solve the problem?

If the answer is yes can someone please tell me how to do this? Certainly
not happy with the fact we were all told that IE7 would bring us all up to
date and offer a better service (blah blah blah) if the product wasnt fully
working before hand! And cleverly enough firefox.com wont open...what a
coincidence!

Any examples? I haven't found a single site that I've tried that won't open,
other than those where the site is down and won't respond to anything.

Depends on if you have any IE add-ons installed that are not compatible with
IE7 - going back to IE6 may give you the perception that you have solved
everything simply because the add-ons where breaking IE7.

Go to Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall from there. If you still have trouble
try posting in the microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup, as
that's the one MS are suggesting for posting issues in.

Then I'd say you have something else installed that is breaking IE7 -
www.firefox.com opens on my PC with IE7 with no problems whatsoever. It's
only a simple landing page that points to www.getfirefox.com - did you try
that site instead?

I'm currently unable to open the following websites (and still finding
more!) facebook.com, yahoo.com, bahn.de, mozilla.com, firefox.com

Sorry not really understanding. Basically the prob is that I cant open all
the websites i need to and really need to sort out this problem...thought
maybe going back to IE6 would solve it...

Ive tried getfirefox.com too, still just takes me to a google page, listing
all the websites close to the name and wont open any of the sites.

Any ideas as to how i can solve this?

All of these work fine in IE7 here. Did you try putting the www. at the
front? If you didn't then it's possible that your IE7 is not autocompleting
correctly and hence is the reason why you think it doesn't work. If they
work with the www. at the start, you need to fix the autocomplete. Haven't
had to do this myself so I'm not sure exactly what the process is, search on
Google for solutions.

Turn off any add-ins you have installed - like Google Toolbar for instance.
Go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons. Disable
everything. If IE now works, then one of those add-ins you disabled is
causing the problem - enable the ones you want one at a time and test each
in turn, you should found out which one is the problem.

Try the suggestions above, I'd put money on one of them fixing it.

I have the same problem, I installed IE7 and after a while all the websites
stopped opening. Can't open google now. Always directs me to a "BNXU" page. I
suspected a trojan but CA virus checker can't find anything.
Help!
