Some really nasty bug has gotten into my PC. Whenever open my browser, or try
to go to any remotely popular site, I am redirected to a generic search page
with links to porn. THis is stopping me from accessing Google, Hotmail and
Amazon.

I have done a full system scan with 3 different anti spyware tools.

Spybot: Search and Destroy
Ad Aware
AVG Antispyware

THey all found minor things, but failed to solve this problem. I really need
help, and thi is just about the only site I could actually get to. Can
someone recommend a worthy anti spyware tool, or even a more direct solution
to this problem, like editing the registry.

ANy help will be greatly appreciated.

This may be a good place to start, after disconnecting your PC from the
public internet and your local LAN...

Go through these general malware removal steps systematically -
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Include scanning with either Sysclean or Multi_AV, plus Ewido. Do all
prep/finishing work and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe
Mode.

When all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the link above (not here, please).

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
