Just installed IIS 6 on one of our LAN computers running Windows Server
2003.

Went to Application Server, IIS Manager, and finally Web Sites and created a
web page in a folder called Web Home Page.

Pardon my ignorance but how do I access this page from either on of the LAN
computers or an external, outside computer?

If this is the default web site, you can open the web site using http\\servername internally. For example my server name is chicagotech, I do http:\\chicagotech. If it is not the default web site, you may do http:\\servername\webname.

For outside access, you need to open port 80 pointing to the server on your router (assuming you have one). If you also register your domain name and it points to the public IP, you can open it using http:\\domainname from outside. For example, in my case, http:\\www.chicagotech.net.

The name of the Windows Server 2003 is jrwserver - is that the name I should be using here - \\jrwserver
If you mean the name of the IIS server, I'm not certain what it is.

Think I may have something now. I had to enter the complete path as:
\\servername\disk drive\documents and settings\web home page\home.htm

If you add home.htm to the documents under IIS or change the home.htm to default.htm, you don't need to type home.htm. Good luck!
