Hello,

We have a workgroup of 11 pc's with  XP Pro running, these are connected in
a peer-to-peer network (attached with a hub).

If 10 pc's are working, there's no problem with the network, if we put on
the 11th pc the network crashes.

I heard there is a limit of accessing with more than 10 users on 1 pc, but I
never heard there was a limit on the number of users in a workgroup.

Can sombody help me with this problem?

ThnX,

Sv.

The limit for a peer-to-peer network I believe is something like 254
computers, although that would be ridiculous and impractical. The limit
you are thinking about is the inbound concurrent connections limitation
and only applies if the computers are connecting to another machine to
use its resources - files, printer, etc. See this link for details:

If you aren't using one of the XP Pro boxen as a pseudo-server, this
limitation isn't application to your situation.

It is more likely that your hub is underpowered, elderly, not very good
hardware, or just plain dying. In that case, replacing it with a decent
16-port switch (or larger if you feel you'll need more lan ports)
should fix the issue.

So look to your hardware.
