Never allow my computer to go offline - NOT!!specifically. I have a customer with an XPPro SP2 laptop, Domain user, connected locally to a SBS03 DC. Due to his travel he requires offline files and synchornization. The problem is that when connected to the LAN with CAT5 he regularily, and randomly, goes offline. I have set this laptop user’s advanced offline settings to: "Never allow my computer to go offline" and the problem persists. He still has the pop up inidcating he is "working offline" on his status bar .. This was a problem at another client of mine on their desktop machines when we rolled out a fresh 2003 network. Being that they were desktop PC we disabled the “Enable offline files†at the GPO level and were done with it. I can’t do that with this laptop. Of coursewhen he “goes offlineâ€, despite being online CAT5, he only gains network access to that which he had chosen to make offline. I have checked the physical network. What cause this issue? Although it appears at a random period, is there a time out that I can adjust before this happens? Grrr!!! Is there a registry hack? My email is AT DOT actual address pchuck mvps org. Sounds plausible, though I'd knock my head against the wall if it's that easy
