Help: Greyed out "Network ID" in XP Home

I'm setting up a new laptop running XP home edition and trying to
access a client-server running SBS2003.  My problem is that I can't
change the computer's name under "Network ID" because that option is
greyed-out in XP.  I can't access our server without changing this.

I'm hoping someone knows a way to get around this.

Thanks!

You CAN access the server without changing the "Network ID".  You can't setup a
computer running XP Home, to join a domain, in any case.

Thanks for the quick response.

Unfortunately I need to join the domain in order to get permission to
access the server.  Kind of like putting the cart in from of the horse.

Sorry, Joe.

You can't join a computer running XP Home to a domain.  You have to setup local
accounts on the server and the clients.

Thanks for the feedback, this confirms what Dell's Tech support says.
I'll have to send it back to Dell so they can upgrade the OS to XP pro.

Thanks again.
