Loss of Network Connection

I am having a problem with one of my computers. I have a desktop and a
laptop on a network.  The Desktop is wired and the Laptop is wireless.
While useing the desktop it will periodiclly loss network connection.
Also when the computer is booted up it does not connect unles we resest

the linksys router and the westell modem.  I know that there cant be
anything wrong w/ the network it self cause at the same time that the
desktop is down the laptop is connected and working. Any thoughts.
Please let me know if you have any ideas on it.

Most likely a corrupt Winsock. Here's the tech article on how to repair. It even
has a download for a "Guided Help" routine which does all the work for you and
has a method to restore the previous state:
