launching Internet explorer 7I cannot launch IE7 from the IE icon - I just get the Internet Properties
window. I can launch IE7 from web page shortcuts and the home key on the keyboard. How do I get IE to launch from the IE icon? Internet Explorer does not appear in my 'All Programs' list but is listed when I go to 'Add/remove programs' in the Control Panel. -- Mal Mal wrote:

The IE7 newsgroup is: microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general There are a huge number of posts so it would be smart to start by going to Google Groups Advanced Search. Use a search term that describes your problem, constrain the search to the IE7 newsgroup and the date to very recently. You can also check MVP Sandi Hardmeier's canonical IE7 site. Sandi has workarounds, known issues, troubleshooting, and links. This may be the only site you need. http://www.ie-vista.com/ And no, I'm sorry but I don't have your answer or I would tell you now. ;-) Malke I don't know if this will work for you, but I resolved a similar issue the
other day by launching IE7 with no add-ons. Try this by right-clicking your IE7 desktop icon, and selecting 'Start without Add-Ons'. You can also find it under: Start All Programs Accessories System Tools Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons) If IE7 now starts for you, you have an 'Add-On' that is causing IE7 to not start properly. Just deactivate ALL of your add-ons, then try to launch IE7 normally. If it now launches correctly, you can try activating you add-ons one at a time until you find the affending add-on. -- Show quoteHide quoteGood Luck, -Doug "Mal" wrote: > I cannot launch IE7 from the IE icon - I just get the Internet Properties > window. I have no icon for IE. I can
only launch it from website shortcuts on my desktop or the 'Home' button on the keyboard. I can launch Firefx OK. -- Show quoteHide quoteMal "Doug Dyreng" wrote: > I don't know if this will work for you, but I resolved a similar issue the > other day by launching IE7 with no add-ons.
